Humanity Sucks

Many of you might know by now that I have a rental house in Coldwater.
This last Friday I learned that my tenants had decided to leave.

This week I had an opportunity to get a look at the place so that I
could work towards finding a new renter.

The family that has lived in this house has live there for three years.

What on earth would possess someone to do the following?

Here are the pictures .

And for those of you who are wondering….yes, that is dog poop. Mass
quantities of poop.

SCOM: Citrix Managment Pack

We utilize Citrix quite a bit, so one of our core monitoring interests in rolling out SCOM was to monitor our Citrix farm.  I was pleased to find out that Citrix has a management pack.  Too bad it is complete junk.

It never found our zone data collector and wanted to tell us every time printer defaults were used.

In the end I simply uninstalled it and am now using this as an opportunity to teach myself about monitor authoring.

SCOM: IIS Discovery Probe Module Failed Execution

Currently I’ve got two servers that are triggering an alert IIS Discovery Probe Module Failed Execution.

The alert description reads:
Error doing IIS Discovery
Error: 0×80070002
Details: The system cannot find the file specified.
One or more workflows were affected by this.
Workflow name: Microsoft.Windows.InternetInformationServices.2003.DiscoverBase
Instance name: Microsoft.Windows.InternetInformationServices.2003.ServerRole
Instance ID: {8E5D6AC8-0000-3E92-F52B-EF14F7C330D7}
Management group: *removed*

So far I have not been successful in finding a resolution.  I’m continuing to research.

SCOM: System Center Operations Manager

I’ve recently started working getting Microsoft’s System Center Operations Manager configured and running here at work.  I figured that I should probably start commenting on what I’m doing, first so that I can keep track of things and secondly so that if anyone else comes across my stuff they can find it helpful.

10 Trillion in debt, and rising

To anyone who reads this and is convinced that the republicans have your best economic interests at heart I would like to direct your attention to this little chart over at Z-facts. On Septbember 30th the national debt crossed the $10 Trillion mark. It is rising even faster.

Fact: The economy is in the tank.
Fact: The country is up to it’s collective eyeballs in debt
Fact: Wall-Street never needed $700 Billion of our money. The Paulson plan was to scare us in to believing it was a good idea.

Do yourself a favor, do not vote against your best interests simply for stances on a few social issues that have zero impact on your life.

Fact: Gays have been able to legally marry in California since June, the world did not end.
Fact: The National debt is larger than the age of the universe.
Fact: To eliminate the debt taxes will have to increase. Suck it up, pay it, quit your bitching.

Vote for change.

The changing tide?

According to Electoral-Vote.com the states of Florida, Virginia, and Ohio have all switched from weak Republican to a dead heat. This is good. This is very good.
